Hugues Bermond
Accessories design
Hugues Bermond is a Head Designer for leather goods and accessories. He began his career at Louis Vuitton under the creative direction of Marc Jacobs, then moved on to Céline under Phoebe Philo. He was then appointed Head Designer for leather goods at Maison Martin Margiela which marked a turning point in the development of his creativity and work. He later took up the same position at Jil Sander in Milan, before joining Alaïa, alongside Azzedine Alaïa himself, a creative collaboration that remains one of the highlights of Hugues’ career. Next came Hermès where he worked on various projects, followed by Gucci under Alessandro Michele, and more recently Hugues worked at Alexander McQueen in London as Head Designer for leather goods under the direction of Sarah Burton. He is the Co-Director of the Master of Arts’ Accessory Design Pathway and Professor of Accessories Design at IFM.
