Two days dedicated to sustainability on IFM campus
This month, Institut Français de la Mode hosted two events dedicated to sustainability in partnership with the "IFM - Kering Fashion Sustainability Chair":
- On April 3, 2023, Paris Good Fashion and Climate Chance came together to present a groundbreaking study conducted on the state of progress of French fashion players in terms of sustainability with the aim of proposing new concrete actions to companies in the sector to accelerate change. Paris Good Fashion is an association that brings together professionals committed to accelerating change in the fashion industry in terms of sustainable development, the environment and social issues. Climate Chance is an international association seeking to develop and promote concrete actions in the territories and to accompany the common expression of non-state actors. This is the first time that 24 French textile industry players (Le Slip Français, Kering, Galeries Lafayette, WeTurn, etc.) have shared their data on key issues such as Climate, Biodiversity, Circularity, Production, and Social and Governance issues.
- On April 17, 2023, the Circular Fashion Day was held on campus, organized by the Fédération de la Mode Circulaire (FMC) and under the patronage of the Secretary of State for Ecology, Bérangère Couillard, who came to meet the actors of a responsible and circular fashion, committed to the transformation of our production model. The FMC was created in April 2022 and brings together more than 180 members from different backgrounds: companies in the circular fashion industry (sorting centers, recyclers...), major luxury and retail groups, second-hand marketplaces, academic partners... For this Circular Fashion Day, the FMC presented its study conducted with Accenture on the estimation of the circular fashion market in France and its growth prospects by 2030, while prioritizing the levers necessary for a virtuous transformation of the sector. This day highlighted circular fashion and its players of the private, public and academic sectors, through meetings, round tables and workshops.
