International conference : Frida Kahlo, au-delà des apparences

The exhibition "Frida Kahlo, beyond appearances" currently on display at the Palais Galliera, the Paris Fashion Museum, offers visitors an opportunity to enter the artist's intimacy and understand how she built her identity through the way she presented and represented herself.

The Palais Galliera and Institut Français de la Mode are organising, with the support of Chanel, a conference on February 24th that proposes to revisit the major themes presented in the exhibition: the image of Frida Kahlo nourished by her cultural heritage and her experience of gender and disability, her time in Paris and her relationship with the Surrealist group, the influence of the artist on contemporary fashion.

Speakers from different backgrounds, fashion professionals, curators, designers, writers or philosophers will follow one another during this day. The opportunity to deepen the key themes embodied by Frida Kahlo still as relevant in contemporary times.

The conference will take place on February 24th from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm on IFM campus at 34 Quai d'Austerlitz, 75013 Paris. You can register by clicking on the link below. Subject to availability.
