New programs : Information about applications

Institut Français de la Mode offers two new programs: a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design and a Master of Arts in Fashion Design. Applications for these two programs will open on 17 December 2018. On this page you will find information on the admissions process for these two new programs. Detailed content of the programs will be published on our new website on 14 January 2019.
BA- Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design
This program, which combines creativity, technical know-how and culture, opens you to creative careers such as designer, stylist, pattern maker....
At the end of 3 years of studies you will have learned the ropes and asserted your creative universe.
The Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design is offered in 2 languages: French or English.
Next intake September 2019 - Full-time program
Admissions requirements
Open to students who have graduated from high school (Baccalaureate or equivalent) and are passionate about fashion and design.
- A preparation in art, design or fashion or a Foundation course is a plus but is not mandatory.
- Exceptions are possible for candidates who do not hold a high school diploma
Admissions process
Application form with portfolio (application fee €50)
If you are selected, you will be invited for a day of tests consisting of two creative assignments and an interview (which may be conducted online if travelling to Paris is not possible).

Interview days: 14, 15 or 16 March 2019
Second session:
Deadline for submission of the application form: 12 April 2019
Tests: 9, 10 or 11 May 2019
Third session:
Deadline for submission of the application form: 25 June 2019
Tests: 8, 9, 10 or 11 July 2019
Tuition fees
€13,000 per year for students from the European Union
€19,000 per year for non-EU students
Thanks to the generosity of Institut Français de la Mode's Foundation, need-based scholarships are available for EU students.
MA- Master of Arts in Fashion Design
The Master of Arts in Fashion Design allows designers to hone their technical skills and sharpen their creative signature. You will develop a full personal project expressing your individual style. Seven majors are offered: Womenswear, Menswear, Knitwear, Creative Pattern making, Leather Goods, Footwear or Image. According to the selected Major, the course prepares you for careers in fashion design, pattern making, styling, art direction, scenography, etc.
The program takes place over 2 years including a 6-month internship.
It is provided in English.
Next intake September 2019 - Full-time program (except for Year 2 of the Creative Pattern Making Major, offered as a sandwich course)
Admissions requirements
- 3-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent in art/fashion, design. Exceptions are possible for candidates without a diploma.
- Fluent English
