Sustainable Fashion conference in New York

Institut Français de la Mode organized a conference on September 17th at the French Embassy in New York, in partnership with Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode and Anne Fontaine Foundation. This event was the second of a series of roundtables called "Regards Croisés", which analyze trends in the fashion industry from French and American perspectives.

For this edition, the topic was Fashion sustainability, with a focus on eco-responsibility, recycling, alternative fabrics and slow fashion.

Speakers included Laurent Claquin, Head of Kering Americas, Nicole Rycroft, Founder of Canopy, an organization that works towards the preservation of the environment, Suzanne Lee, Creative Director at Modern Meadow, a startup that produces animal-free leather, Benjamin Simmenauer, Professor at IFM. The roundtable was moderated by Michelle Millar Fisher, Louis C. Madeira IV Assistant Curator of European Decorative Arts at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
