The Master of Arts Show 2025 opens Paris Fashion Week®
On Monday March 3, students in the Master in Fashion Design and Knitwear Design program presented their graduation collection at the opening of Paris Fashion Week®. With 6 looks, each collection represents the culmination of a course of study that began in September 2023.
Since their arrival at IFM, these 26 students from 13 different countries have benefited from an excellent training program combining specialized teaching and an interdisciplinary approach (technology, human sciences, sustainable development).
For each of them, the collections presented are the expression of a personal sensibility and testify to their immersion in the professional world, encouraged and facilitated by the school. Prestigious fashion houses - such as this year's Balenciaga, Coperni, Hermès and Kenzo - as well as seasoned designers, industry experts, makers, technicians and craftsmen also contribute to their training through collaborative projects, enabling each student to develop an approach that combines creativity, traditional know-how, technical skills and innovation.
These 18 months of training, preceded by 6 months of work experience, have given rise to unique collections that reflect a wide range of personal research and societal issues, oscillating between collective memories and political demands, between artificial intelligence and heritage preservation.
This year, a growing number of French and Italian fashion designers advised and generously accompanied the students in the technical development of some of the most complex silhouettes.
In keeping with the desire to encourage collaboration and combine talents, the fashion show was held on the IFM campus. Several students from other courses helped, and some of the accessories presented at the show were designed by our Master in Accessories Design.
The fashion show was supported by DEFI, to which Institut Français de la Mode is grateful, as are its main partners OBO, Titre Provisoire, Make Up For Ever Academy and Real Campus by L'Oréal. IFM would also like to thank the specialized textile producers and manufacturers, notably Groupement de la Fabrication Française, Holding Moda and Les Teintures de France, who helped the students develop their collection.
