PLAYTIME: A Collective Exploration of Fashion Image
The Master of Arts in Fashion Image students showcased their final projects during the PLAYTIME exhibition, held on the IFM campus from March 20 to 22, 2025. Inspired by the concept of the playground – a space for social experimentation, risk-taking, and imaginative freedom – PLAYTIME is more than just an exhibition. It also features conferences and video screenings, encouraging visitors to reflect on fashion imagery beyond the scope of the graduation projects.
This edition brought together 17 young professionals from 11 different nationalities and diverse backgrounds. Guided by artistic director Rotem Rachel Chen, they collaboratively designed and produced this exhibition, exploring fashion imagery through various formats: books, films, fanzines, websites, social media strategies, events, scenography, pop-ups…
Each of them offers a unique perspective, experimenting with image creation through photography, video, animation, AI, 3D, and more. Their projects address a wide range of themes, including transgender identity, play, home, beauty, repair, new rituals, the night, intimacy, derealization, the subversion of everyday life, and the fight for attention.
The Fashion Image and Art Direction program, designed and led by Stéphane Wargnier and Alice Litscher, invites students to explore the many dimensions of visual communication, from art direction to editorial design and brand strategy.
